KRIB Haskovo and Thracian University - Edirne continue their cooperation on new projects

New projects for joint cooperation are currently being discussed by the Chairman of KRIB- Haskovo Stefan Dimitrov and Prof. Murat Turkiyelmaz, Vice-Rector of the Thracian University - Edirne. This became clear during a meeting of the two sides with the mayor of Haskovo Stanislav Dechev.
Prof. Türkiyelmaz thanked the mayor of the regional city for the opportunity to meet and expressed an invitation in one of the future developments, in which the two organizations will partner, to receive the support of the municipality of Haskovo.

"With our intentions for joint cooperation on such a project, we hope to take the first steps towards the introduction of" green "fuel in the cross-border region. It is possible to build plants in both countries to produce hydrogen, "experts from both countries commented during the meeting.
"Such innovations are an essential part of the road to technological progress and an opportunity to prevent climate change. It is precisely such innovations that we must strive for. That is why we are discussing with our colleagues from Edirne the possibilities for work in this direction "- commented Stefan Dimitrov.
Currently KRIB - Haskovo and Thracian University - Edirne are partners in the project "Save Nature to Save the Future", co-financed by the European Union through the Cross-Border Cooperation Program INTERREG - IPA Bulgaria - Turkey 2014 - 2020.
One of the topics that the chairman of KRIB - Haskovo raised before the mayor Stanislav Dechev was related to the needs of the sector "Agriculture" in the region:
- "Agriculture without young people is unthinkable. The specifics of agricultural production do not provide an incentive for young people to seek employment in the sector. With the creation of opportunities for qualification and realization, the situation could change. "Joint efforts in this direction can give security to agriculture," he said.
The parties discussed with the mayor of Haskovo the idea of attracting universities to open branches and new specialties in the field of agriculture and technology, as well as the possibility of exchange of teachers between Edirne and Haskovo.
Turkiyelmaz and his team arrived in Bulgaria in connection with the second working meeting on "Save nature to save the future." The development aims to protect the soils in the cross-border regions of Bulgaria and Turkey. In its implementation, a Center for recycling plastic boxes, which are a major polluter in the region, is planned to be built in Meric, Edirne. On the other hand, Dimitrovgrad already has an electronic laboratory for determining the nutrient needs of the soils in Haskovo district, which will help for proper fertilization and achieving optimal yields.
